Craft beer is an industry on the move. Just ask anyone who has bothered to browse the beer aisle at their local supermarket or who has taken the time to lookup breweries and brewpubs in the local area- they will affirm that there are more craft beer choices, more interesting and unusual varieties, and more brands than they have ever seen before. The industry is enjoying a boom as of late, and more and more entrepreneurs continue to jump on the craft beer bandwagon, hoping to tantalize consumers and create the next award- winning product.

Being scared to try new things is also another way that business owners can slip up, when it comes to engaging properly online. Don’t be afraid to start discussions, and be vulnerable. Being too shy or nervous to try something that your audience or customers may enjoy is a shame. You didn’t get to where you are by being risk avoidance- and sometimes trying new things is risky. The first thing that came to my attention in all of my research is this — LinkedIn is not the same as Facebook. It requires a more professional approach since it is a networking site for business professionals. It is not a fun place to share photos and playfully tag your friends. Communicating in a professional manner is a must at all times.

You can directly share your great artwork with social networking sites such as Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, Dropbox, Foursquare, Tumblr, Blogger, and WordPress.

Now, back to the Kim Kardashian without makeup controversy. One user balked, “Girl, you know you got makeup on!” Another user said they were pretty sure they saw “mascara”.

Tip: Align your intended audience with every single word you say, action you take, and heart you break. Don’t be afraid to make enemies with your customers enemies.

Instagram is still uncharted territory for marketers. You won’t find lots of products or articles on how to use it. But it is getting huge and you’ve got to add it to your arsenal. I recommend getting it and playing with it to get ideas.
